Ok so I saw this some where and logged it away in my over stuffed brain “to try later” and finally tried it out today and OMG I wish I had tried it sooner because its a ROCK STAR tip!!
We all know that replacing Cricut mats is expensive. In the past I have resticky’d (anyone know how to spell that? lol) them using Zig Two Way glue or Martha Stewart’s glue. But this is even BETTER!
Supplies needed.
Water
Foam Paint Brush
Cricut Mat
Aleene’s Tack-It Over & Over (Only place I found it was Micheal’s – was like $4 but I used a coupon *grin*)
Little Gladware or Tupperware container ( it makes way more than you need so store it for another day whats left over)
1. Wash your mat. I just use dish soap and water and a scrubby pad.
2. Let dry completely
3. Mix up 50/50 Tack-It and Water. Mostly I think this is just to make it spread better. You just need it to be reallllllllly thin. I counted to 10 while I squeezed it out of the pin hole I had put in the top and then added water to that. I dont think there is a science to it but you want it watery not thick.
4. Take foam brush and in a thin coat cover mat ( JUST WHERE THE STICKY WAS BEFORE!)
5. Let dry.
6. Condition mat ( stick your hands all over it – important!! )
7. Use! (Be sure to run a test with scrap paper as first cut so you know how its going to stick)
That’s it! SO SUPER SIMPLE and can I just say CHEAP! I would say you would use one bottle of the Tack-It 100′s of times before running out.
